Drive Unit Testing

Drive Unit Testing (see Technical Information Section)

Driver characteristics vary with changes in materials and production processes, they also vary over time whether sitting on the shelf or in use – the drivers you bought may be quite different from the published data sheets. Before design your enclosure or crossover it is important to measure the actual drivers that will be used, rather than rely entirely on published datasheets.

Audio-Components offer to test your drive units and provide you with a comprehensive set of measurement results:

  • Impedance curves
  • Thiele-Small parameters (Fs, Qes, Qms, Qts, Vas, mms, cms, bl, SPL sensitivity)
  • Quasi anechoic frequency response plots
  • Voice coil DCR (Re) and inductance
  • Recommended enclosure type (sealed or vented) based on EBP and measured T-S parameters
